Family Fortunes
Family Fortunes is a party video game first released for the Wii only in Europe on October 23, 2009. The title was developed by Slam Productions and is based on the television game show Family Fortunes.
Mii usage
Miis appear as playable characters in Family Fortunes and act as the game's contestants. Players can customize their in-game families with Mii characters stored on their system or the 32 preset Miis the game provides. These Miis are reused from Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?: 2nd Edition, another Slam Productions developed game.
Oddities
Family Fortunes may have the most unoptimized usage of Mii characters out of all the titles they appear in for several reasons:- Unlike the game's proprietary characters, Miis in this title are simply rendered as floating 3D heads with no bodies. Instead, 2D sprites are used to give off the illusion that the Miis' heads are standing.
- Mii characters with longer hair will have their hair appear over the sprites, ruining this illusion entirely.
- Additionally, these body sprites are recolored versions of sprites used in an unofficial Adobe Flash recreation of the Mii Channel.
- Choosing the "Show More Mii Characters" option in the family edit menu has a chance of softlocking your Wii console. On an emulator, this will show a glitched black screen for one second before showing more Mii characters.
